Description
After successful completion of Professional Development Programme during 2023-24, the NHM Odisha had requested CGG to conduct the Management Development Programme on Strategic Programme Management and Leadership to enhance the skills of Block Program Managers and Junior Hospital Managers in the year 2024-25. This program focuses on equipping participants with essential leadership and strategic management competencies required to effectively manage healthcare programs at the block level and in hospital settings in Odisha.
Key areas of the programme include strategic planning, program management including monitoring, evaluation, documentation and report development, decision-making, leadership styles, team management, and resource optimization, stress and time management.
The programme aims to build their capacity to manage healthcare initiatives efficiently, improve operational efficiencies, and lead teams using supportive supervision approaches. Through this program, participants are empowered to take on leadership roles, improve healthcare delivery, and contribute to the overall strengthening of the healthcare system in Odisha.
The programme was conducted in five batches with a total of 200 participants in a phased manner. The pedagogy used in the programme includes interactive classroom session along with group discussions, role plays and games. The participants were taken to field visits to various health facilities such as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAM),/Primary Health Centres (PHC) and Community Health centres (CHC) in rural Telangana offering participants hands-on experience and direct interaction with beneficiaries to understand the health care system.
